Food, wine and all is fine
Just the name of the incredible annual festival of food and drink in South Beach is quite a mouthful.
The Food Network & Cooking Channel South Beach Wine & Food Festival presented by FOOD & WINE (whew… let’s go with SOBEWFF for short) takes place from Feb. 19-22, and features some of the best treats your palate could possibly experience.
Over the course of four days, some of the world’s best-known chefs, wine gurus and hospitality industry types descend upon Miami to bring incredible flavors to the thousands in attendance.
The full list of events over the four days is enough to get your mouth watering. On the food side of things, check out events such as the Al Fresco Feast on the Beach, Paella by the Pool, Tacos after Dark (with celeb chef Aarón Sánchez), Meatopia: the Q Revolution, Death by Chocolate, Big Apple Brunch and much, much more.
Wine-wise, you can attend Champagne seminars, wine and food pairing sessions for all sorts of dishes (and a wide range of wines), and high-end tastings with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to try some whites, reds and bubblies that are truly special.
SOBEWFF brings in some of the culinary world’s biggest names year after year, and the 2015 fest is no exception. Special guests include Bobby Flay, Masaharu Morimoto, Giada De Laurentiis, Guy Fieri, Ming Tsai, Rachael Ray and many more.
And while you taste incredible food and drink stunning wines by the beach, you can feel good knowing you’re helping an incredible cause. Proceeds from SOBEWFF benefit the Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management at Florida International University.
In fact, just last year FIU was able to open the Wine Spectator Restaurant Management Laboratory and Mel Dick Wine Tower, a state-of-the-art facility where students can hone their skills in cooking labs, wine and spirits management, and a student-run restaurant that seats 145.
Now that deserves a toast.
