With 70 miles of beautiful beachfront, San Diego is a picturesque paradise.
Head down to the water and be wowed by the powerful Pacific Ocean. Mission Beach features an amusement park, beach volleyball, a boardwalk and, naturally, plenty of space for sunbathers and swimmers.
The Midway Museum, located at Navy Pier in downtown San Diego, is an aircraft carrier — the longest serving carrier in the 20th century — that has been converted into a maritime museum. Many of the featured aircraft on display at the museum, which sees over one million visitors annually, were built in the area.
One of San Diego’s best-known attractions, of course, is its zoo, which is home to thousands of animals from hundreds of species. The zoo has been a pioneer in housing animals in a natural habitat, so much so that it’s one of the few facilities in the world to have successfully bred the giant panda.
San Diego’s incredible dining scene is thanks in part to the city’s proximity to both the Pacific Ocean as well as the Mexican border. From food trucks to fine dining, it’s as easy to find fresh, impeccably cooked seafood in the area as it is to find authentic Mexican fare.
