Located in northwest San Diego, this cozy coastal community is one of the city’s newer neighborhoods, but is steeped in just as much fun as everywhere else. From small cafés to coastal cuisine, classic cocktails and beyond, you’ll find it served in the area. Check out the spectacular parks in the area as well.
Commercial and residential meet in San Diego’s Columbia neighborhood. Located near Little Italy and home to the Maritime Museum as well as the incredible Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum, the water’s never far away. Take a stroll along the water and grab a bite to eat (including incredible seafood), then wander back and enjoy the sounds of the ocean and the stately palm trees.
Sitting across San Diego Bay from the town of the same name, Coronado is nicknamed “The Crown City.” A stroll down Orange Ave. and the many restaurants, theaters, and shops, or a visit to the town’s award-winning beaches will prove the moniker hits the mark. Don’t forget to poke your head into the legendary Hotel del Coronado, built in 1888.
When a city’s name means “by the sea,” you know the ocean will always be nearby. This small city has plenty to offer: picturesque golf, pristine nature, some of the world’s best beaches, lots of great shopping opportunities, antique shows and more. And of course there’s the Del Mar racetrack, a staple of the community.
Located in the heart of San Diego, the Core district is the financial hub of the city. And while there’s plenty of business to be done in the area, there are also great opportunities to play. An increase in the number of condos in the area has seen businesses follow, meaning there’s no shortage of shopping and dining options.

With shops, entertainment, great eating and more for blocks and blocks, San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter is a traveller’s paradise. Located in downtown San Diego, the area is considered a historic district, boasting incredible architecture, much of which was built in the Victorian era. Shop, dine, dance and enjoy a drink in style.

La Jolla has a bit of everything, much of which you can see from the high cliffs in the Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve: lagoons, rare torrey pine trees, incredible wildlife and more. But the neighborhood itself is decidedly modern, with some of the priciest housing in the country as well as Torrey Pines Golf Course, home of some of golf’s greatest rounds.
Mission Bay needs to be seen to be believed. This man-made aquatic park spans over 4,000 acres, and features incredible opportunities for bird watching, camping, fishing, golf and more. Prefer to simply hang out in the sun? Enjoy 19 miles of beaches (on foot or by bike), warm water, and rowing before visiting SeaWorld.
Nearly half of Torrey Pines’ 2,600-acre landscape is comprised of parks and open spaces, making it a great choice for connecting with nature — including with the area’s rare but stunning namesake tree.

With 70 miles of beautiful beachfront, San Diego is a picturesque paradise.

Head down to the water and be wowed by the powerful Pacific Ocean. Mission Beach features an amusement park, beach volleyball, a boardwalk and, naturally, plenty of space for sunbathers and swimmers.

The Midway Museum, located at Navy Pier in downtown San Diego, is an aircraft carrier — the longest serving carrier in the 20th century — that has been converted into a maritime museum. Many of the featured aircraft on display at the museum, which sees over one million visitors annually, were built in the area.

One of San Diego’s best-known attractions, of course, is its zoo, which is home to thousands of animals from hundreds of species. The zoo has been a pioneer in housing animals in a natural habitat, so much so that it’s one of the few facilities in the world to have successfully bred the giant panda.

San Diego’s incredible dining scene is thanks in part to the city’s proximity to both the Pacific Ocean as well as the Mexican border. From food trucks to fine dining, it’s as easy to find fresh, impeccably cooked seafood in the area as it is to find authentic Mexican fare.
