SLS South Beach
Originally built in 1939 as the Ritz Plaza Hotel, designer/architect Philippe Starck took the SLS South Beach through a massive re-design beginning in 2004, fusing a variety of styles throughout the building. Art Deco meets contemporary flair; Latin inspiration meets Asian influence; Old World Paris meets American summer camp. It all works.
While the décor throughout the rooms and suites is always inspiring — white upon white, and French-inspired — the finishing touches make each space unique and just a little bit cheeky. Mirrors on the ceiling, anyone? Oh, and Lenny Kravitz, a partner in the hotel, designed the Presidential Penthouse and the villa.
At The Bazaar by José Andrés, South Beach fare meets Spanish influence, but with an ability to cross the pond in any direction for inspiration.
