The authorization ensures that the card is valid and will be released 5 to 10 days after check-out, provided there is no damage, missing inventory, room charges, or excessive cleaning required. Amount authorized at this property: $75.00 USD per night
Please note that if the owner of the credit card we have on file will not be present at check in, the person checking in at the hotel will need to provide their own credit card. If you need to make arrangements to prepay your stay (either for yourself or for someone else), please contact us immediately and we will forward you a Credit Card Authorization Form as hotels usually require a minimum of 7 days processing time.
The Hay-Adams Hotel opened it's doors in 1928, and has a history just as complex and interesting as the property directly across the street, the White House. This premier luxury boutique offers amazing views of both Lafayette Park and St. John's Church as well as providing guests with the highest standards of elegance and service. This boutique hotel has been a go-to for the modern luxury traveler for close to a century.
WHAT WE LOVE
The hotel’s clever slogan “Where nothing is overlooked but the White House”
Former President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama stayed here in the days leading up to his first inauguration
The Hay-Adams Room contains original wood paneling dating back to 1884, from John Hay and Henry Adams former residences that resided on the property
Enjoy the decadent Champagne Brunch served every Sunday at The Lafayette
Hosting a regular Author Series, the hotel invites literary giants to give readings. Authors have included Maya Angelou, Joyce Carol Oates, going all the way back to Mark Twain
Off the Record, the hotel’s bar was voted as one of the “World’s Best Hotel Bars” by Forbes.com
