We All Dream in Gold – The 88th Academy Awards
Now that the dry run – the Golden Globe Awards – is done, it’s time to prep for the real thing: the presentation of the Academy Awards on Sunday, February 28th at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. Actor Chris Rock returns as host after an eleven year absence.
Hollywood awards ceremonies are always plenty of fun — the fashion parade, the monologues, the big wins, the stunning upsets, and the potential for personal disasters. Think: tripping, clothing malfunctions, being struck dumb, and, on the flip side, actors saying something really inappropriate that will make headlines for weeks.
It’s glamorous, it’s sexy and it’s fun. Who wouldn’t give their eye teeth to be there? To get a selfie with the stars? Take that friends on Instagram!
Nominations for the awards are out so here’s who you can expect to see in the spotlight:
Best Picture:
The Big Short, Bridge of Spies, Brooklyn, Mad Max, The Martian, Revenant and Room will bring out heavy-hitters Brad Pitt, Steven Spielberg and Ridley Scott
Lead Actresses:
Cate Blanchett, Brie Larson, Jennifer Lawrence, Charlotte Rampling and Saoirse Ronan
Lead Actors:
Brian Cranston, Matt Damon, Leonardo di Caprio, Michael Fassbender and Eddie Redmayne
